Grant Program

We are committed to funding research and to discovering new and better treatments that improve the lives of individuals with autism. It is our firm conviction that working together with the scientific community we will solve the mysteries of autism and eventually find a cure.

Autism Allies awards research grants on a semiannual basis, each April and October. We are currently accepting proposal applications for grants that will be awarded in April 2009. Deadline for submissions is February 28, 2009. Grant recipients will be announced on April 10, 2009 and will be posted on our website.

The average grant amount ranges from $20,000 to $40,000 per year. Grant requests are limited to two years, and are funded on an annual basis.

Because autism spectrum disorders are extremely complex, we encourage scientists from all research disciplines to participate. To request our grant proposal application package please email us at research@autismallies.org.

Grant Review Process

Our Research Committee is responsible for assessing the grant proposal applications submitted to Autism Allies. Proposals are evaluated on a number of aspects, which include:

  • Scientific merit
  • History of the organization
  • Project innovation
  • Total budget
  • Relevance to the mission of Autism Allies

Funding recommendations are made by the Research Committee and presented to our Board of Directors for final approval.
